MS Dhoni has hailed CSK’s new opening pair of Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum. These two guys are doing wonders at the top of the order for the men in yellow in the ongoing edition of the IPL. They have given their team brisk starts on quite a few occasions.
According to Dhoni, the best thing about the Smith-McCullum pair is that they don’t try to compete with each other in terms of boundary scoring. They just look to complement each other and that’s helping both of them as well as the team.
Because of the great starts given by their openers, the Super Kings have won 4 out of the 5 matches that they have played in IPL 7 so far.
Now, the UAE leg of the ongoing IPL is over for CSK and they will be returning to India very soon to play rest of their matches there.
Their next match is scheduled to be played against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Ranchi. That’s an away game for them, but, they are expected to get a lot of support there as that’s the hometown of MS Dhoni, their skipper.
Meanwhile, there hasn’t been any news regarding the replacement of Dwayne Bravo who had got injured while playing in CSK’s first game in the tournament against the Kings XI Punjab. According to the IPL rules, CSK can sign a player, either domestic or international, to replace him, but, the Yellow camp hasn’t done that yet perhaps because they believe that the Caribbean all rounder would get fit for the play offs.
Bravo has been an integral part of the CSK unit since the last 4 years. He has won them a number of games in that duration both with his batting and bowling.
